HALE COUNTY (KCBD) -
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a rollover in Hale County Saturday night that killed a 40-year-old man from Amherst.
Troopers say Jose Flores was traveling south on FM 179 at a high rate of speed just before 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Investigators say he ran a stop sign at FM 54 and lost control of his 1999 Ford F-150 on the dirt road just south of the intersection. The truck rolled several times coming to a stop in the middle of the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene around 9:30 p.m.
Investigators say Flores was wearing a seat belt.
