City begins sewer work on Avenue R

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - If you are traveling downtown, you need to know about some detours.

On Tuesday, the City of Lubbock Water Department closed Avenue R from 7th Street to Mac Davis Lane for construction of a sanitary sewer line replacement. The intersection of 7th and Avenue R will be closed to through traffic.

Construction is expected to take about four to six weeks.
