Walmart Golf Tournament to benefit CMN

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - On Saturday, April 10, 2010, the second annual Walmart Golf Tournament will be held at Meadow Brook Golf Course located at 601 Municipal Drive in Lubbock.

The tournament is open to the public. The event sponsors are Pepsi, FritoLay, Bimbo Bakeries US, Coca-Cola and Dr. Pepper. Special guests will be the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.

Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. and the shotgun start will be at 9:00 a.m. The registration fee is $75 per person or $300 per team. Lunch will be provided by Chick-fil-A. Dinner will also be provided. There will be a Hole-In-One opportunity to win $10,000 and raffle prizes include a 55" LCD HD TV and a Home Theater System.

Since 1984, CMN has locally raised more than 12 million dollars. Walmart and Sams have been the largest supporter of CMN in the country. Locally, Walmart has raised over a million dollars and the UMC Children's Hospital playroom is named the Walmart Playroom.

One hundred percent of funds raised go to providing health care services for all the Children of the South Plains and Eastern New Mexico through the UMC Children's Hospital, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and their affiliated health care and community partners.
