Littlefield man pleads guilty to criminal solicitation of murder

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Littlefield man pleaded guilty to criminal solicitation of murder.

ATF and Levelland authorities arrested Jason Sanders in June of 2009 for plotting to kill his wife using a pipe bomb.

Court papers detail an under-cover operation that lead to Sanders arrest using a fake bomb built by Lubbock County Sheriff's Bomb Squad.

Divorce papers were pending at the time of his arrest. Sanders' ex-wife was not hurt, and has since moved outside the state.

Sanders will spend 17 years in prison.
