LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Just as spring brings all this color to the landscape, the wind brings allergens to our nose and eyes. A simple skin test will let you know exactly what you're allergic to, but you can avoid some allergy triggers by making an effort to keep the outside from getting inside.
"At night when you come in leave your shoes by the door don't trek the pollen through the house, and wash your hair before bed," said Stanley Fineman, M.D., with the Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunizations. "Because, pollen can get caught in your hair and you don't want to be sleeping with it."
Dr. Fineman says one of the keys to keeping the sniffles suppressed is to stay on your medication, whether it's prescription, or something over the counter that your pharmacist can recommended. That may be all you need to feel much better.
