Mayoral candidate to be write-in candidate for LISD Board of Trustees

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A candidate for Lubbock Mayor has been qualified as a write-in candidate for the LISD Board of Trustees. LISD announced that Richard Quade is eligible as a write-in candidate for the four year, at-large position on the board.

State law says a person cannot be a write-in candidate for more than one office on the same election day. The district says laws are unclear surrounding Quade's situation. So, after consulting with the Secretary of State and attorneys, Quade's application was accepted.

Incumbent Steve Massengale is seeking re-election.

Election day is May 8th.
