LUBBOCK, TX – Lubbock Christian University baseball head coach Nathan Blackwood announced the signing of Coronado High School's Alex Linker for the 2010-2011 incoming class of baseball recruits. The signing took place at Coronado High School in front of friends and family.
Linker is a 6'3" first baseman with the Mustangs lettering in his third season as a starting member. He began his high school varsity playing career in 2008 as a starting shortstop. He moved to first base last season and claimed First-Team All-District and Avalanche-Journal South Plains Player of the Year accolades after tying a school record with a .512 batting average, which included 36 runs-batted-in, 36 runs and 19-for-19 in stolen base attempts. Linker was also a Third Team All-State (TSWA) selection as a junior.
The Chaps are currently 28-10 on the season. They return to action Tuesday at Hays Field hosting West Texas A&M at 6 p.m.
