5th Annual Tech Theta 'Speak Up for Kids' CASA 5K today

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Court Appointed Special Advocates of the South Plains (CASA) and Texas Tech University have teamed up for the 5th Annual Tech Theta 'Speak Up for Kids' CASA 5K.

The race will take place on Saturday April 10th at the Frazier Alumni Pavilion on Texas Tech campus located at 6th St and Boston. The Kids K will start promptly at 9:00 a.m. with the 5K race starting at 9:30 a.m.

The CASA 5K/Kids K race was created to help increase awareness for the non-profit organization as well as raise funds for the training and support of CASA volunteers. You can register for the event on race day for an additional $10. Registration forms can be found online at www.lubbockcasa.org.

CASA is a nationally known non-profit organization dedicated to the advocating of children who have been removed from their home due to abuse or neglect. CASA of the South Plains currently serves six counties including Cochran, Hale, Hockley, Lubbock, Terry and Yoakum.
