Pitch, Hit and Run Activity for girls softball is canceled

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Due to a new city policy, the Pitch, Hit and Run Activity for girls softball that was scheduled for Sunday, April 11 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lubbock Youth Sports Complex has been cancelled.

The group says in a written statement that to be able to use the fields, a rental fee of $150 per day, and an insurance policy is required by the City of Lubbock. MLB and PHR event does not allow the use of sponsors or to charge for their events.

This notice was given to the Pitch, Hit and Run coordinator at noon on Friday. According to the coordinator, the City was unwilling to work with them on the issue.

Pitch, Hit and Run is a free community service event for the softball girls in the area.
