City of Lubbock moves to keep lawsuit against Covenant on the books

By James Clark | email

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Lubbock City Hall tries to keep its lawsuit against Covenant Health System on the books.  The City of Lubbock sued Covenant back in early 2008 to force the hospital to turn over records pertaining to local businessman Ted Parker, whose company had been the city's health insurance administrator.

Parker's company joined the lawsuit and recently asked that it be tossed out of court.  The City of Lubbock now argues that a federal judge's protective order in the case is enough to protect the Parker company's rights and therefore the dispute really only involves the city and Covenant.  KCBD NewsChannel 11 will  follow up when the judge makes a ruling.
