Lubbock ahead of state & nation on Census participation

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – It's been almost two weeks since the deadline for filling out your 2010 census forms.  So, KCBD NewsChannel 11 took a look at census participation rates around the South Plains, and here's what we found.  As of Sunday night, the City of Lubbock and Lubbock County both have a 66 percent participation rate.  Elsewhere:

  • Hockley County 62%
  • Lamb County at 56%
  • Terry County at 64%
  • Hale County at 61%
  • Lynn County at 56%
  • Floyd County at 60%
  • Crosby County at 52%
  • Garza County at 70%
