District 84 candidates says runoff differs from March election

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - It is round two for the District 84 candidates, Mark Griffin and John Frullo. KCBD NewsChannel 11 caught up with these contenders to see how they think this campaign differs the second time around.

Frullo says he feels he's gained momentum since the primary, while Griffin says he has become more strategic.

"It's gonna be close. I'm confident. Of course we want to win. We've been doing everything to win, and that's what we're hoping for. So, I think the momentum's going my way, and we're pretty excited. We'll see tonight, huh?" says John Frullo, District 84 candidate.

"You know who voted in the primary, so you go to those people first and make your case to them. Then, you start working on those who didn't vote in the primary because they can vote in this election and you start soliciting their support," says Mark Griffin, District 84 candidate.

Both candidates encourage everyone to get out and vote.

We are starting off the weekend cool, but warmer temperatures are on the way along with a break from high winds today. Sunday we will a combination of warm temperatures and southwesterly winds sustained at 20-30 mph in the afternoon hours. With high temperatures, low relative humidity values and high winds, we will see the return of an elevated risk for wildfires.
