Lubbock Police Department has fired an officer after lawsuit

Posted:

Lubbock, TX (KCBD) - The Lubbock Police Department has fired a Lieutenant after a lawsuit revealed misconduct by the officer.

Kimberly Nacoe Diaz filed suit last year claiming she was wrongfully terminated for reporting that her estranged husband Evaristo Diaz was stalking her.  Both were police officers at the time of divorce proceedings.

Evaristo Diaz is accused in a lawsuit of harassing his ex-wife among other charges. During an internal investigation the police department found that Diaz did improperly use police resources.

Kimberly Diaz's lawsuit was dismissed earlier this year after the city agreed to a settlement.
