LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Coalition of Community Assistance Volunteers, Inc. (CCAV) will have extended hours this week during which income-eligible taxpayers who live on the South Plains can have their income tax returns prepared and e-filed for FREE.
CCAV's offices are located at 5601 South Avenue Q (east side of Avenue Q at the corner of Villa Drive), and will be open to the public this week as follows:
Wednesday, April 14 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Thursday, April 15 noon - 8 p.m.
To qualify for CCAV's free services, taxpayers' income must be LESS than the following amounts (based on family size):

Taxpayers who purchased a home or a new car in 2009 should call CCAV for more information before going to the CCAV offices.
CCAV's services are provided by volunteers trained by CCAV and the IRS. During the past six tax seasons, more than 17,000 income-eligible taxpayers have taken advantage of this free service. Doing so has enabled them to receive every penny of the refunds to which they were legally entitled, saving them an estimated $3 million in tax preparation and e-filing fees.
FREE Volunteer Income Tax Assistance services are sponsored by: Lubbock Area United Way, Bank of America, American Bank of Commerce, Lubbock National Bank, American State Bank, City Bank, Security State Bank, First Bank & Trust, Platinum Bank, United Ways of Texas, and United Way Worldwide. CCAV's community partners include the Lubbock Housing Finance Corporation, NTS Communications and Wayland Baptist University.
