Lubbock water treatment plant receives funding for upgrades

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The City of Lubbock will receive money from the Federal Government to help with water treatment plant upgrades. The funding comes from a rural development grant and loan through the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Lubbock will receive $660,600 in grant money as well as a $1,981,000 loan.

The Lubbock plant the money will help upgrade serves the rural communities of Brownfield, Lamesa, Slaton, Tahoka, and O'Donnell.

Senator John Cornyn says this project will boost local jobs.
