LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – The Lubbock unemployment rate goes down just a little bit when comparing February to March.
The Texas Workforce Commission says Lubbock went from 6.0% to 5.9%. Lubbock's number of jobless went from 8,800 in February to 8,700 in March. In March of 2009, when Lubbock's unemployment rate was 4.8%, there were an estimated 6,800 people locally without jobs. Lubbock's rate in March is tied as the third lowest in the state.
Texas statewide unemployment for March was 8.2%.
