LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – A 23-year-old man could face up to 10 years in prison after seven people were injured in an accident early Sunday morning.
Lubbock police say the driver of a pickup truck was headed west on 19th Street at Raleigh Avenue around 4:15 a.m., when he ran into the back of another vehicle. The truck then slammed into a utility pole. Police say the driver fled the scene, leaving his two injured passengers.
It took jaws-of-life almost 45 minutes to reach the four people in the other vehicle. They ranged in age from 19, 55, 88, and 82.
Everyone on the scene was taken to local hospitals with serious injuries. Police have identified the driver of the truck, but he has not been arrested. He could face additional charges for failing to stop and provide aid.
The accident remains under investigation.
