LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Before a child even gets into school, there are dozens of little tests they need to pass the little milestones in their development. If you're wondering if your baby or pre-schooler is progressing on target, there is a free developmental screening this weekend coordinated by students in the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center Department of Occupational Therapy.
"So for an infant, we would check to make sure they're rolling over, that their reflexes are in place," said Melissa Schulze, a student at TTUHSC. "For a little bit older child, we'll check to make sure they can stack blocks and that their motor coordination is on time."
The free developmental screening is this Saturday at the south plains mall between the Gap and the Buckle, it's from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for children age five and under.
