Frenship Hires First Ever Soccer Coaches

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

LUBBOCK, TX - Frenship Independent School District is proud to announce the hiring of Gery Joy and Eric Eugenis as the first head coaches for the new Frenship girls and boys soccer programs. The two coaches were approved by the Frenship Board of Trustees during the monthly meeting on Monday, April 19.

Frenship Head Girls Soccer Coach Gery Joy comes to Frenship from Lubbock High School where he has been the head girls soccer coach since 2005. Joy has a total of nine years experience coaching and six years experience as head soccer coach. Along with his five years as head soccer coach at Lubbock High, he also served as head boys soccer coach at San Angelo Lake View for one season.

Frenship Head Boys Soccer Coach Eric Eugenis joins the Frenship staff after serving as head coach of the boys program at Rockport-Fulton High School the previous three seasons. Eugenis brings 12 years of coaching experience to Frenship and seven years of head coaching soccer experience as well. He was also the boys head soccer coach at Bandera High School for four seasons.

Plans are in place for to develop the Frenship soccer program during the 2010-2011 school year in preparation for competition. Frenship is scheduled to compete against a junior varsity schedule of opponents in 2011-2012. The first season Frenship will field varsity teams is scheduled for 2012-1013.
