LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Get ready for more construction. The city of Lubbock will break ground for the widening of Quaker Avenue next week. Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. city leaders will meet near the United Market Street at 98th and Quaker for the ground breaking.
This project involves widening Quaker from 98th to 114th Street to seven lanes. This $4.8-million project is the first of several approved by voters during the November 2009 Bond Election. The city expects to complete the work by summer 2011.
