LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Up until now, Lubbock cable customers have been able to escape the requirement of a digital converter box on their analog TV sets. As of July 29th that will change for many Suddenlink customers in Lubbock, Post, Shallowater and Wolfforth.
Suddenlink will provide a "DigitaLink" at no extra charge, and upon request Suddenlink will send a technician to install it.
Suddenlink's Limited Basic customers who receive only channels 2 through 19 will not be required to upgrade. Those who have a Suddenlink digital cable box, and those who have a digital cable-ready TV, or a digital cable-ready device connected to their TV are also unaffected by the upgrade.
Suddenlink says the conversion is possible because of a $350 million capital upgrade. The company promises better video and sound quality.
Customers who need DigitaLinks can obtain them by visiting http://imagine.suddenlink.com or visiting the company's Lubbock office at 6710 Hartford Ave, or calling toll-free 877-872-9132.
