Friends, family commemorate anniversary of Sheriff deputy's death

Posted:

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Friends and family remember a local Sheriff's Deputy killed in the line of duty one year ago Monday.

Twenty-nine-year-old Corporal D. Robert Harvey was killed last year when his squad car collided head on with a Ford pickup near 88th and Martin Luther King. Harvey was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Lubbock County District Attorney's Office dropped all criminal charges against the driver of the pickup, due to lack of evidence. A memorial was placed at the scene where Harvey died. His family put up a cross, and released balloons to commemorate the anniversary.
