LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Thursday morning Lubbock ISD School Board Members approved renaming Lady Mustang Field to Darrell "Doc" Rosenow Field.

Rosenow was a long-time supporter of the Coronado softball program.  He died last fall.  Rosenow was a member of the Kansas Softball Hall of Fame and spent many years as a fast pitch softball pitcher in Kansas and Texas.

Rosenow attended Coronado softball practices, games, meetings, and fundraisers.  He served many years as a volunteer summer softball coach and volunteered to improve players skills.

Board members approved the name change in a unanimous vote.  Coronado administration, coaches, players, and Mr. Rosenow's widow were on hand for the vote and thanked the board for their approval.
