No. 12 Texas Too Strong for Tech

Longhorns use long ball and capitalize on errors

Blaire Luna went the distance and picked up her 25th win of the season to lead No. 12 Texas to a 7-2 win over Texas Tech in Big 12 softball play. Brittany Chalk and Courtney Craig hit home runs in the windy conditions at Rocky Johnson Field for the Longhorns, while Tech posted its two runs courtesy of a blast by second baseman Logan Hall., in front of 729 fans.

With the win Texas improves to 38-10, 11-2 and extends its lead in conference play while Tech falls to 35-13, 7-9 and slide to seventh in the Big 12. Tech next hosts No. 20 Texas A&M for a weekend series on Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at noon to close out the regular season.
