Posted:

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – A 6-year-old girl was thrown from an SUV in an wreck Friday morning. She and two other children are now receiving treatment at a Lubbock hospital.

The accident happened before eight o'clock at the intersection of 48th Street and Avenue Q. David Cantu, 53, was driving a Chevy Tahoe southbound on Avenue Q, when his SUV collided with a Chevy Cavalier driven by a 15-year old girl who did not have a driver's license.

Neither driver was injured, but EMS took the three children riding with Cantu to the hospital. They include two boys, ages ten and five. Both suffered moderate injuries. The 6-year-old girl is now in critical condition.

Police called accident investigators to the scene. So far, they have not released how the accident happened or who was at fault.
