SLATON, TX (KCBD) - Saturday, a Slaton baseball player got to get back on the field after almost a year away from the game he loves.
About a year ago, Jared Terry was badly injured in a car accident. He still has to go to therapy six hours a day, but has made a lot of improvements.
Saturday, he got to throw the first pitch at a little league game as the guest of honor. Jared told KCBD the experience was awesome. "He said awesome, and it was. It was awesome to think how far he's come and he's got a long way to go, but he's getting there. He's going to do it," Jared's mother Jeanne said.
The whole Terry family was honored at the game for their support of the Slaton little league program.
