Aggies Win Slugfest
16 runs and 24 hits between the teams, lead to 10-6 Texas A&M win
Logan Hall went 3-for-4 with a home run and four runs batted in, but it wasn't enough as No. 20 Texas A&M handed Tech a 10-6 defeat in the opening game of their series. With the win the Aggies improve to 38-13, 9-6, while Tech falls to 35-14, 7-10 in the Big 12.
Ashly Jacobs (13-7) took the loss for Tech as the right hander pitched four innings and gave up six runs, five earned, on six hits and a pair of walks. The senior struck out four before giving way to relievers Karli Merlich (two and two-thirds, four runs--all earned--on seven hits and a walk, with four strike outs) and Ashley Brokeshoulder who recorded the final out.
The teams conclude their series tomorrow at noon. A senior celebration will be held honoring out-going players, Jacobs, Legler and Danielle Matthews, which will begin approximately 15 minutes before game time.
