The seven former POWs are back in the states and five began undergoing intense medical testing Monday night. They arrived at Fort Bliss Sunday and remained there while the other two continued on to Fort Hood. After a visit with their families, the five soldiers underwent various physical and medical tests.
"They are still in great spirits. They look incredibly happy and they took in relatively good spirits. The idea that they are going to be going through medical testing over the next few days. I know that's no fun for anybody," said Commander Glenn Mitchell.
Military officials say they will complete the various test by week's end and are then likely return to active duty.
