Yemeni Man's Trial Begins for Shooting Levelland Missionary

The trial began Monday for a man accused of shooting a Levelland missionary and killing three others inside a charity hospital in Yemen. Abed Abdul Razak Kamel has already admitted to gunning down William Koehn, Kathleen Gariety, and Dr. Martha Myers.  Pharmacist Donald Caswell of Levelland was also injured in the attack.

Kamel said it was his duty to kill the missionaries at the Southern Baptist-run hospital where he believed they were sterilizing Muslim women and trying to convert Muslims to Christianity. Prosecutors say that Kamel has ties to Al-Qaeda, and they are seeking the death penalty in the case.
