Brief standoff at Walmart on 4th and Avenue Q


LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Four men and one woman were held at gunpoint in the Walmart parking lot on 4th and Avenue Q on Wednesday afternoon, by a Lubbock Police Officer, after the suspects were accused of stealing a sandwich, eyeliner and wine.

A Lubbock Police Officer in the parking lot saw one of the suspects run out of the Walmart, then another followed by a loss prevention employee.

The officer held the suspects in the parking lot at gun point until backup was able to arrive.

All five of the suspects are charged with possession of marijuana. 18-year-old Carmen Bejarno also had a municipal court warrant for her arrest.

The four males that were arrested have all been charged with organized crime and theft.

23-year-old Cornelio Delgado also had a municipal court warrant and was charged with failure to identify. 17-year-old Joshua Garcia had a warrant for his arrest involving a burglary. 22-year-old Timothy Delgado and 17-year-old Paul Ochoa was also arrested and had no priors.
