Scottish Rite celebrates special anniversary

Posted:

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Many people think of dyslexia as a condition where letters appear backwards or mixed up. But it's really a learning disorder that can include a variety of reasons that kids struggle with reading and handwriting. This past Sunday was special because 109 students graduated from the Scottish Rite Learning Center. This was the largest graduating class they have had.

This year is special too, because the center is celebrating the 25th anniversary of a law that protects the rights of students with dyslexia.

Scottish Rite Learning Center provides free therapy to students with dyslexia, and trains therapists to take the program out to other schools, all thanks to the charitable work of the Masons.
