Lubbock Students Use Green Thumbs To Learn About Earth Day

Some Lubbock second-graders celebrated Earth Day with a field trip to a local tree farm. About 200 students planted vegetable seeds and played with the animals at Treegrace Farms. The trip was not only for Earth Day, the students are studying plants and animals in their classes.

Earth Day was started by Gaylord Nelson, a former Senator from Wisconsin who said the best way to save our planet was to educate people on ways to protect and conserve.
