A 12-year-old boy suffered serious injuries Sunday afternoon after a go-cart accident.  The Lubbock County Sheriff's Department says it happened near 50th Street west of F.M. 179.

He was wearing a seat belt and helmet, but the accident still put him into the University Medical Center ICU or Intensive Care Unit.  Details of the accident were not available Sunday but the early indication is that the go-cart rolled.  During the crash, the go-cart might have been struck by a second go-cart.

KCBD NewsChannel 11 will continue asking for details.
