Wind and heat are back on the South Plains for a few more days

LUBBOCK, TX(KCBD)- With a new work week on the horizon skies will be partly cloudy with very windy conditions as the day progresses. This afternoon skies will be mostly sunny, very windy with blowing dust in areas and temperatures are expected to be hot. Due to the high winds  there is a high risk for wildfires. The high for today is forecasted to be 91 degrees, with fair conditions as the sun sets along with a light breeze. The low temperature for today is expected to be in the lower 50's.

Tuesday's forecast will be mostly sunny, windy and again hot with high's in the low to mid 90's. The hot temperatures will continue into Wednesday with partly cloudy skies, and breezy. High's will be in the mid 80's. There is a chance for rain in Thursday's forecast, along with mostly cloudy skies, cool temperatures and conditions will be windy. The high for Thursday will be in the 60's.
