Congressional Candidate Voices Concern Over Lubbock's Water

Congressional District 19 Candidate, John D. Bell held a news conference Wednesday afternoon to call for an end to what he called a get-rich scheme to sell Lubbock's water. Bell says the plan to pump water downstate from the Ogallala Aquifer must be stopped in order for the South Plains to have a future. He says a better source of water lies underneath oil fields. "This project has the potential to renovate it will improve the quality and quantity of Lubbock's water," said Bell.

Bell says he would like to see new legislation passed to secure the water in the Ogallala Aquifer.
