Tech is out of the Big 12 tournament

OKLAHOMA CITY - Texas Tech (36-16) earned a split for the day as the Red Raiders beat Kansas, 5-3, and then lost to No. 2 seed Oklahoma, 2-0.

With the loss Tech is out of the Big 12 tournament and will return home to await its postseason fate tomorrow night when the NCAA softball committee selects its 64-team bracket. The selections will air on ESPNU at 9 p.m. CT on Sunday night. (Tech's chances of earning a berth are good.) 

In the game with Kansas, Ashly Jacobs went the distance to improve to 14-8 on the season. The win gave Jacobs 50 in a career at Tech (second best, all time).
