LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock is just one of the latest cities to have a group hold a rally against Arizona's immigration law. They're called "Communities in United Discourse Against Discrimination" or CIUDAD.
They feel the new Arizona immigration law will lead to racial profiling, false arrests and threaten American Civil Liberties.
"It reminds me of South Vietnam where you had to have a card in your pocket or they'd arrest you. WE'RE IN AMERICA, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. If someone's illegal I understand it had to be dealt with as well," says former City Council Member T.J. Patterson.
The measure allows authorities to check the immigration status of people they believe may be in the U.S. illegally.
