The Lubbock City Council approved Tommy Gonzales as the Interim City Manager Thursday night, but not without some disagreement.
Tom Martin was the lone council member who voted against appointing Gonzalez as City Manager. Martin said he felt Gonzalez lacked the experience the city needs. Gonzalez defended himself saying he's worked for the city for more than ten years. The council will now go about finding a permanent city manager. They hope to have that done in 6 to 9 months.
