LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Both sides have rested in the trial of a Slaton man accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl.
Isaac Jones, 51, is on trial for four counts of sexual assault with the teen back in 2008. The defense wrapped up its case just before 5 p.m. on Thursday, after questioning the victim.
On the stand, the victim claimed she was "an unwilling participant" in the sexual acts with Jones. The charges against Jones stem from a March 2008 traffic stop.
Idalou Police pulled Jones and the victim over when the officer noticed Jones' license plate light was not working. The officer ran his driver's license and realized Jones had an outstanding warrant. When the officer searched Jones' car, he found a video-camera with footage of Jones and the girl having sex.
Jones pleaded guilty two years ago to producing child pornography and was sentenced to 24 years in prison.
Closing arguments will be first thing Friday morning, followed by jury deliberations and sentencing.
