HUNTSVILLE, TX (KCBD) - Texas prison system investigators are waiting on autopsy results after an inmate from Lubbock died in prison after a scuffle with officers.

Thord Dockray, 43, of Lubbock died May 13th after he was found on the floor of his Huntsville, Texas cell.

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice says the whole ordeal started May 12th, when Dockray started throwing urine on officers. He refused to stop, and then refused to allow officers to handcuff him.

A five-man team went into his cell, placed him on a backboard, and hauled him to the infirmary. Once back in his cell, he was checked on every 30 minutes. He was found dead in his cell around noon the next day.

Dockray was serving a five year sentence for assaulting a Lubbock police officer.
