LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – While 96% of parents and caregivers think their child safety seats are in right, research shows that 7 out of 10 kids are not properly secured.
Remember, the child safety seat laws in Texas have changed. It used to be that kids younger than five and under 36 inches tall had to ride in a car seat, but now the law says kids need to be in a car seat or a booster seat until they're 8 years old, or 4'9" tall. So Covenant is hosting a free safety seat check on the first floor of its west parking garage Saturday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. if you'd like to drive by and make sure your kids are riding safely.
