Lubbock Police say that speeding through a red light was the main cause of an accident near 34th St. and West Loop 289 on Saturday night, but they believe alcohol may have also been a factor.
Police say the driver of a GMC pickup was west bound on 34th St. just after 11:30 p.m. when he ran a stop light and hit a Chevy Blazer, knocking it into a ditch. The driver of the Blazer, William Morris was ejected from the SUV. Morris and his passenger Tiana Tompson were transported to Covenant Medical Center.
Morris was treated and released, Tompson is in fair condition. The three people in the truck were transported to University Medical Center with moderate injuries.
