Children learn at Health and Safety Fair

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Hundreds of Lubbock kids got lessons on safety and health issues Saturday at the 8th Annual Children's Health and Safety Fair at Clapp Park.

About 2 dozen organizations gave out information and demonstrated to the kids how to live safe and healthy lives. Topics ranged from good hygiene to boat and bicycle safety.

"Kids need to know the correct way to ride a bicycle with the traffic and how to cross streets," said Safety City Director, Charlie Madgwick. "

About 6,000 kids go through Safety City's programs each year.
