By James Clark | email

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – A Lubbock postal carrier admits she stole money from someone's mail.  Candace Keltz Gutmeir, 26, pleaded guilty last week in Lubbock federal to one count of Delay Or Destruction Of Mail

Gutmeir admits in court records that she opened a letter belonging to a girl in northwest Lubbock with a return address of "Nana & Papaw" in Fort Worth. She also admits she took $40 cash out of the envelope.

Gutmeir apologized when confronted by federal investigators and she'll be sentenced at a later date to no more than one year behind bars.
