LUBBOCK, TX(KCBD)- A Severe Thunderstorm Watch, issued by the National Weather Service, is in effect until 8 PM for the eastern two-thirds of the KCBD NewsChannel 11 viewing area. This includes the Plainview, Lubbock and Brownfield areas. The watch is in effect until 8 PM, and indicates that there is a chance of severe weather in and near the watch area. The main threats are large hail and high winds, along with heavy rain and frequent lightning.
This afternoon and evening a slight chance of severe thunderstorms, mainly east of I27-Hwy87. It will be mostly cloudy, humid and warm with a high in the upper 80s. Winds will continue to gust near 35 mph, but may be much higher near storms.
Tonight a slight chance of thunderstorms, mostly cloudy, humid. Overnight low temperatures will be in the mid 60s.
Tuesday a slight chance of severe thunderstorms, mostly cloudy, humid and warm with high temperatures in the mid 80s.
Wednesday a slight chance of thunderstorms, mostly cloudy. High in the low 80s.
