Coach Pat Knight Announces New Player

LUBBOCK, Texas – Coach Pat Knight announced today that the Texas Tech men's basketball program has added native Texan Marshall Henderson to the Red Raider squad.

Marshall played his high school basketball at L. D. Bell in Hurst, Texas, before playing his freshman season at Utah. The 6-2 guard started 30 of 31 games for Utes. He was Utah's second-leading scorer with 11.8 points per game and sank 65 of his 194 three-point attempts.

At L. D. Bell, the same high school as former Red Raider Alan Voskuil, Marshall averaged 25.8 points, five rebounds, five assists, and nearly four steals per game in his senior season for the Blue Raiders. He finished his high school career with 2,829 career points and is the Texas 5A all-time leader with 429 made three-pointers.

Due to transfer rules, Marshall will sit out the 2010-2011 season and then have three years of eligibility at Texas Tech.
