Hundreds of local high school seniors graduate

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Several hundred local high school seniors are beginning a new chapter in their lives.

Estacado, Monterey, and Coronado High Schools held their 2010 graduation ceremonies at the United Spirit Arena Saturday. "I feel like we're just so excited right now... just all this adrenaline pumping," said Coronado graduate Connar Turner.

Nearly 450 students graduated from Coronado, of those 13 have already joined different branches of the military. "I'm definitely looking forward to basic training. It's just something that I've always wanted to do and I just can't wait till I can put on a uniform and serve my country," said Coronado graduate Keynan Long.

Long will be leaving for training in New Jersey next week as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard.
