Teachers of the Year

Local educators were honored Tuesday evening for their contribution to the future of the South Plains community.

The event took place during "A Spring Celebration" at the International Cultural Center. Among those recognized: Mary Warren of Shallowater, who was named Make Kids Count Teacher of the Year.

The event was sponsored by the Lubbock Avalanche Journal and the Make Kids Count program partners.
