LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD)- While the national coastal crisis continues, a local solution from right here on the South Plains is making national headlines.
We've showed you the Fibertect Wipe on KCBD NewsChannel 11 before. It's a non woven material made with cotton and carbon that can soak up and hold 10 times its weight in oil and lock in toxins.
Researchers at Texas Tech originally made the wipe to protect soldiers from chemical warfare, but now they think it may be the solution to the oil spill clean-up.
The marketer of the Fibertect Wipe will be on national television on CNBC during the power lunch show at 12 p.m. on June 1st to discuss its applications to the oil spill.
