Accidental shooting victim recovering, named by officials

LUBBOCK, TX(KCBD)- Authorities are investigating an accidental shooting in Dickens County. It happened around 7 p.m. Monday in rural Dickens County. 

The Dickens County Sheriff's Office identified him Tuesday as James Edinburgh, 19. He was flown by AeroCare to University Medical Center in Lubbock.

The Dickens County Sheriff tells KCBD NewsChannel 11 that the man is in stable condition and should be released from the hospital in "a day or two." The Sheriff also says Edinburgh shot himself with a 22-caliber handgun.
